Founded on March 21, 1919 by the overseas Chinese leader, Mr Tan Kah Kee, Hwa Chong Institution (HCI) is one of the top high schools in Singapore. Hwa Chong Institution was formerly known as two independent administrative institutions. It was founded in 1919 by The Chinese High School and Hwa Chong Junior College in 1974. In 2005, it was formally merged into Singapore Hwa Chong Institution, offering a six-year Singapore-Cambridge Certificate of general education advanced level thorough training course. So far, Hwa Chong Institution has produced 56 recipients of Singapore’s most respected presidential scholarship.
